Rolleston-on-Dove Station Heritage GrouRolleston-on-Dove Station Heritage Group (RSHG) is a volunteer organisation under the umbrella of The Rolleston Engineering and Transport Society (TREATS). The mission is to maintain the surviving railway artifacts as well as the fauna and flora.

New volunteers are always welcome to join monthly working parties convened on the first Saturday morning of every month, from 10am, weather permitting. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Keeping a high profile in the locality the group attend various events with a display. Such events this coming season will include the Scouts Carnival, Rolleston Transport Festival and the Village Fair.

To arrest the interest of the younger generation, illustrated talks are presented to local schools, usually followed-up by a visit to site.

After a wet start, the December Working Party proved to be a great success with most of the remaining leaves removed from the platforms. More spring bulbs, kindly donated, were planted in front of the carriage/cattle dock and the excess soil and grit removed from around the crane base in the goods yard.

The customary ‘coffee/tea’ break took on a rather festive style with a splendid home-baked Christmas cake..

The latest Winter Bulletin below gives an update of the project’s progress.
